There will be two in-class quizzes, each worth 10% of the course grade. Each quiz will last approximately 30 minutes, and we will explain the solutions in a tutorial.
GenAI use is not permitted during quizzes. See the course GenAI policy.
One quiz will take place near the middle of the term and the other later in the term. Dates remain flexible to follow our teaching pace and encourage regular attendance. The date, assessed topics, and permitted materials will be announced one class in advance. Both quizzes will take place no later than November 27, 2026. Quiz scheduling will follow UBC’s restrictions on examinations near the end of term.
A missed quiz receives zero unless an academic concession is approved. For an approved concession, the instructor will arrange a makeup quiz or alternative assessment while preserving the quiz’s weight. See academic concessions for how to request support.
