Course Policies

These policies apply to EECE 576L, 2026/27 Winter Session, Term 1. Use Piazza for general course questions and Canvas for submissions and grades. Contact the instructor privately about personal circumstances or grading concerns.

Report Format

Project proposals, peer-review reports, and final project reports must use the NeurIPS conference format and be submitted as PDF files.

Late Work

Late work receives a 20% penalty and may be submitted up to three days after the deadline.

Academic Integrity and Attribution

Students are responsible for understanding and following the UBC policy on academic misconduct. Ask the instructor when an assessment rule is unclear, and acknowledge all sources and assistance, including papers, code, books, websites, and individual communications.

AI Tools and Attribution

AI tools may assist with reading, writing, slides, and code. Disclose the tools used and briefly describe how they contributed in the submission or slides. Cite the underlying papers, code, data, and other sources; check any AI-generated citation against the original source.

You remain responsible for the correctness and originality of your work and must be able to explain your submitted methods, code, and results. These expectations apply to all assessments, including proposals, final reports, and peer reviews.

For project planning, specify the compute resources you can access and a feasible fallback; see the proposal guideline. For final submissions, include reproducibility instructions as described in the report guideline.
