Course Project

Students may work individually or in groups of up to four. Form groups early; Piazza can be used to find teammates. A larger group is expected to complete more work than a smaller group or an individual, and all students in a group receive the same grade.

A project may relate to a thesis or another external project, but the work submitted for EECE 576L must represent substantial additional work and cannot also be submitted for credit in another course.

Evaluation

Projects are evaluated on the quality of the research idea, the positioning relative to prior literature, the strength of the experiments or theoretical analysis, the clarity of the report, and the support for its conclusions. Full marks require a novel contribution.

Deliverables

• Project proposal: one 2–4 page proposal per group, excluding appendices. The proposal establishes a feasible starting plan and may be revised later.
• Project presentation: 5 minutes for an individual or 10–15 minutes for a group; exact allocations will be announced before presentations.
• Presentation peer review: feedback on an assigned class presentation.
• Project report and code: one 6–8 page final report per group, excluding appendices and bibliography.
